What's New in R0.24

May 24, 2010  Joomdle R0.24 Released

After several months of development we are pleased to announce that Joomdle R0.24 is available to the public.  This is another major milestone in Joomdle's development which brings more features, stability, 3rd party integration and ease of use to the Joomdle community.

There are a lot of new improvements including a new administrator control panel, user synchronisation, course calendar, login redirection, and many more features.  We have also improved the overall administrator interface including the ability to select courses by name when adding menu items, revamped course modules with a number of configuration options making modules more functional and flexible, and a simplified configuration page.

For new users we have introduced a "System Health Check" which helps you prepare your web server for Joomdle.  This tool will compare your server's environment / configuration against Joomdle's prerequisites saving you time and energy during the installation process and ultimately get you running with Joomdle sooner.

We also invite you to explore Joomdle's new Wiki which includes installation, configuration and features guides, information on 3rd party integration and a FAQ.  While much effort has been exhausted on this Wiki, there are still many areas that require improvement and thus we encourage you to contribute making it a true community project.

Finally, on the topic of community, we would like to give a special thanks to Carlos Mansilla, Fabrice Cunuder and Vincent Julliot.  Carlos contributed the code for the course calendar module.  This is most certainly a wonderful contribution.   While Fabrice provided the French and Romanian translations for Joomdle, and Vincent assisted to validate the French translation.  Thanks again.

Warm regards

Joomdle Team
