Moodle 2.3.1 (Build: 20120706)
Joomla! 1.5.22 Stable

Hello,

I have installed Joomdle and everything was working well whilst I was creating 'Moodle' users from the 'Users' menu under Joomdle. Now when I try to view the users menu I get the error: XML-RPC Error (404): Unknown error.

The system check is all green and I have double checked the Moodle webservices and re-created a new token.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

*Update:

It resolves itself if i delete the browser cache, however returns when I search for a specific user.

As you said at first, it was originally working. So my first question is, what has changed?

404 is normally a broken link or similar, have you replaced files / deleted files, etc.?

Personally, I would check your files to see if they are all there. What is the url you are trying to serve up?

Maybe even copying the joomdle files up again or re-installing - but first make sure you have your backups and note down all your configuration options.

Hi:

I have the same error message. From the 'working' system to the 'broken' system, this is what I remember I did:
(a) Updated Moodle to the latest 2.3
(b) Updated Joomla to the latest 2.5.6

My setup is simple (since I am still testing this out).
Say:

Link "JoomHome" is set up to display Moodle frontend into a Joomla wrapper
Link "JoomCourse" is set up to display the course link

I figured that:
* BEFORE logging in, 'JoomHome' and 'JoomCourse' show up just fine
-- When I select a course within 'JoomCourse' menu, it asks me to login and displays the course content just fine!

BUT

* AFTER logging in, clicking 'JoomHome' ERRORS out

Would these details help? Thanks!

Chis is right; after isolating each of the components, found out that the "Certificates" component was erroring out since I have not setup any certificates on the Moodle site. So, is it that joomdle was pointing to a broken link/non-existing content (?).

Well, other components are working so far. Anyways, thanks for the hint!

Joomdle 0.82
J! 2.5.11
Moodle 2.3.3

I have same problem:
XML-RPC Error (404): Unknown error

But checking systems is all OK. no errors.

I did just one thing:
All user change a new group.
Before was a Register group..

Now I can see users list on moodle, then start error mesage...
What can I do for this trouble?
Reinstall it again?
or assing again Resgistered users?...

therefor was updated my joomla 2.5.8 to 2.5.11 maybe thats the problem too...
How to fix this?

The first thing I would do is to set all users to Registered again and see what happens since this is one of the changes you made. The other change was your Joomla upgrade to 2.5.11 which is a lot of work to change back. Thus try the other first.

If this works, at least the problem is identified and from there the next step is to find solution. Perhaps users could be registered and your new group at the same time.

Ok,
I did it.
But what happen if a I really need to comback to normal users in to a group desingned...?
In this case I think is not to good to do it again...
joomdle has a lil promblem to do this?
'Cose in this case I need to register my new user into a group asigned automatically when they summit the form:
new forms asign group to the user.
I was testing my forms, but i never imagine couse troble cose, I was login/logout an dboth platform works fine.
Wha do you recommend not to loose users list to be transfer to moodle if I have asigned in a groups?

As I said above, you need to identify the problem first. Thus far you have described an error message and not what the problem is. If there is a bug in Joomdle with user groups we can fix this. But perhaps the problem is not this.

In your last post you say you "did it". Did the problem go away when you used "Registered"? Did the problem come back when you did not use "Registered"?

Thanks

Tks Chris, when I said "Idi it" ..
I mean.. I did your first suggestions, to change or assign back Resgiter Group....
That was right to back see a joomdle user list.
Then return again, just one group no register group...
Joomdle users not comeback to disappear.

things i did:
Reinstalling Joomdle before change users group.
Adding group Registered.
Check exiting users on joomdle: Ok
Left the group, not register group.

Error was fixed it.

Thanks for you help Chris and Joomdle team!

I would like to confirm.
- Is your problem resolved?
- If so, how did you fix your problem?
- Is there still a problem that requires Joomdle fixing?

Thanks

Chris
