We have some troubles with Joomdle users sync: we can’t log in old nor new users.

The users are synced, they have accounts in Moodle, Joomla and Joomdle.

When we try to log in, we get the error message:
1. Warning Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

 But users do exist.

After further trial and error, I found this:

Nothing works until I either:
  • Change password in Moodle, the user is able to log in through EasySocial, not Joomla default
  • Conditions: Moodle account, Joomla account, Joomdle account
  •

After logging in once through ES, log out and log in again, login from Joomla default works.

OR:

Under Joomdle: users, add user to Joomla. User receives a confirmation email with a new password.
  • This password works to log in to ES, not Joomla default.
  • User still logs in to Moodle with OLD password
  •

After logging in once through ES, log out and log in again, login from Joomla default works. Conditions: Moodle account, Joomla account, Joomdle account

I’ve been reading your documentation, and I know we can do both ways, Moodle to Joomla or Joomla to Moodle.
In our workflow, what we need is this:
  • Users already created in Moodle should be synced to Joomla and Joomdle, with the same credentials, including username and password (our current students)
  • Same thing for every new user created in Moodle
  • Once synced to Joomla, these users should be automatically logged in to Hikashop, EasySocial, Acymailing, aec and Kunena.
  •

Please advise how to get that.

Hi there,

I think before digging deep, lets try / check a few things:
- Do you have all green checks in your system health check?
- Assuming the above, it would be best to narrow down the problem by trying a new Joomla registered user without any 3rd party integration. To do this just disable any 3rd party integration Joomdle plugins ie hikashop, easysocial, etc. Keep the core Joomdle plugins enabled. Also ensure no 3rd party data integration options have been selected in the Joomdle configuration. And finally register a new user from the Joomdle front end using the normal Joomla registration / login form.

With that what are your results?
- Does the user get registered in Joomla? In moodle?
- Can they login to both successfully?
