To allow Moodle to authenticate with Joomla! you will need to install and configure the Joomdle authentication plugin.  This plugin can be found in the Joomdle installation package called auth_joomdle.zip (folder moodle/ for version 1.9 and moodle20/ for version 2+).

In most recent Moodle versions, you can directly upload the plugin through Moodle interface.

For older versions, create a temporary directory and uncompress the contents of the zip file.  Then copy the uncompressed files to your moodle/auth/joomdle directory on your web server. (Depending on how you chose to copy the files, you may need to create the joomdle directory first).
