Install Problems #1
I tried installing ver 0..24 and now my Joomla index.php page is blank.
It seems to have broken my Joomla 1.5 site?
The System Check page is also blank. Everything else seemed to install correctly.
I am using Moodle 1.8 and it looks like the install failed there as well. Although the site still works.
Below is the Error message I am getting on the Notifications page here
Any ideas. If not, how best to uninstall so I can get my Joomla Site back?

Hi.
On the blank joomla site issue: try disabling joomdlehooks and joomdlesession plugins, and test again.
As for unistalling: can't you just unistall joomdle from joomla extension manager?
As for the moodle errors, you should delete everything that is giving errors, and then re-visit Notifications:
- delete from mdl_config_plugins where plugin like '%joomdle%';
- delete from mdl_mnet_host2service where hostid=0 and serviceid=4;
- drop table mdl_joomdle_dummytable
The strange thing is the blank page. It seems you don't meet some of the prerequisites, like having XMLRPC for PHP....

I think I will tackle the Joomla problems first.
I am running everything locally with hte latest version of MAMP. Is Moodle supported on this? Not sure about XMLRPC for PHP?

Moodle seems to run fine on MAMP, but I am undeterred.
I guess that leaves XAMPP or move over to develop locally under Windows and WAMPP.
Can you recommend a local server that works well with Joomdle?

Joomdle.com and our test server both run on LAMP using Centos. Antonio develops on LAMP as well. I also test (but not develop) on a windows vista based environment but do note, that I have note tested all features in my windows environment. I have seen some others here using windows successfully with a few things to consider as it relates to file paths.
Also note, that Joomdle has been developed using Moodle 1.9+, see the Prerequisites here www.joomdle.com/wiki/Prerequisites k.
With regards to your Joomla site being broken, your installation is the first we have seen like this. What version of Joomla are you using? What template? Any other extensions?

Yes, it broke Joomla dead. Once I uninstalled, everything worked again.
I am running Joomla 1.55 with the latest versions of Community Builder and Kunena. Nothing fancy but no problems so far other than Joomdle. It broke using the standard Joomla install template.
I am determined to carry on but am hesitant to switch from MAMP. I have another Joomla! install that is more complex and is my backup to a live site. It is running perfect on it and do not want to risk problems there.

As you said, pretty basic configuration. The only thing that stands out at this time is Joomla 1.5.5 (I assume this is what you mean). I think we only start building / testing with Joomla 1.5.12+ but find it hard to believe this would be the cause.

We already stated that MAMP does not include XML-RPC support.
Hence, what I think that happens is that any joomdle package is calling an xml_rpc php function, and causing the server to just die, as I guess it is configured to not show errors.
Anyway, without XMLRPC, Joomdle can't work, so I guess there is not much interest in knowing why it ends with a blank page in an unsupported server.
