Hello There,

When I create a user on Joomla, the account is indeed created on Moodle, but it is only created as "XX". Neither the first name, last name or email is ported over to Moodle. Therefore, all users appear to be "XX" in Moodle regardless of their Joomla id.

Is there a way to get email from Joomla synched to Moodle? Also, it would be nice, if first name and last name are not available, to place the joomla "user name" into the first name field, so its at least recognizable to users.

IF this has already been talked about, apologies: I may not be searching on the right terms.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Jonathan

That is not the normal behaviour. The field mapping is;
Joomla --> Moodle
name --> firstname
username --> username
email --> email

- Are all the items under system check set to green check mark?
- What is the Joomdle configuration options set to? Have you selected Auto configure moodle users?
- Are you collecting user information form VM, or Jomsocial?

Since Joomla doesn't support extra fields at this time, we can pull the extra fields from: VM, Jomsocial. Soon this will include Tienda as well.

System check is still saying: Joomla URL seems to be misconfigured in Joomdle auth plugin in Moodle Everything else looks good

I have "auto create moodle users" set to true on the Joomdle configuration.

No

OK thanks.

This is likely to be the cause of your problem. This refers to the URL you specify inside Moodle under users. You can refer to this link in the wiki
www.joomdle.com/wiki/Installing_Joomdle_...g_Joomdle_for_Moodle

For how to setup Joomdle in Moodle. You may wish to try different combinations of your domain name eg. with or without the www in front depending on how you have setup your server.

I've been having similar problems; see www.joomdle.com/en/forum/18-r025-support...-are-blank-in-moodle

The system health check reports "Received empty response from Moodle". That message is not documented on the wiki ( www.joomdle.com/wiki/System_health_check#Joomdle_Web_Services ).

Any suggestions about how to debug would be greatly appreciated.

OK, here is what I had to do. Not sure why it worked. The Joomla side setting for moodle has to use "http://localhost/moodle19" whereas the Moodle side setting for Joomla has to be "http://127.0.0.1/joomla", for example.

That is the ONLY way I can get the web services alert to not turn on.

Now, when I create a new id in Joomla, and then proceed into Moodle for the first time as that logged in user it presents me with a "Let's get more information from you" form, which appears to respect the locking configs I set up during the Joomdle installation.

So.... its working for me now.

I haven't see the "Received empty response from Moodle" error yet dschweizer, so I am afraid I may not be much help. Anyone else?
