Enrol Button Function was created by Jay Williams
Ok..I'm lost!

I have joomdle installed and test all ok, and the link between the systems seems to be working.

I'm currently working on now integrating moodle into my joomla site as much as possible.

How should the enrol into course button function? I was hoping it would send users to register and checkout through virtuemart and purchase the course,..but currently it seems to be bypassing the purchase part and sending user straight into the course after registering through joomla.

Have I got the functionality of the button mixed up or have a messed something up in the configuration?

Regards,

Jay

Hi.

The enrol me button is meant to be used for free courses (ie: no VM access).

For the "buy button" to appear, you need to enable the vm integration, and publish the course in the shop. Remember that the course must have a price for this to work.

I have enabled VM integration and the item is appearing in the shop at the moment. Do I need to turn the enrol button off and direct people to the shop instead of leaving the enrol button on? I notice in your demo the digital photography course has a price appearing with the content. I'm not seeing that on my setup at the moment.

Ohhh I see.... If enrol is off..then the buy button appears!

Now we are getting somewhere.

Thanks for you prompt help! I have to say, for a free component, your component and support is fantastic!

I'll be sure to go and do that.

Just a thought along the same topic. It would be neat have the "buy course" button change and become a "open course" or "enter course" button when registered, logged in users that have already purchased the course view that page...though i'm not sure if its possible.

Another thought I had was that it would be good to have a link option to link to the edit profile page. I'm currently trying to strip my moodle theme right back to just the central list of topics and have it appear within a frame inside joomla, and then placing the appropriate information around that page using modules. The grade module, that I'm guessing isn't available yet, will be helpful in achieving this once released.

Thanks for your suggesttions.

I will create a new thread in the Feature Request forum for 1), I remember having thought of that at some point, but I think I finally did not try.

For 2) Do you mean a link to moodle user profile?

Yeah I was thinking along the lines of the moodle user profile. With my setup at the moment the only menu items that appear in the moodle admin menu inside moodle are grades and profile. Obviously grades could be mostly covered with the new module. Having the menu option to create a link to the user profile could eliminate the other. A menu link to the users grades may also be of benefit too.

Thanks for the additional info.

I have changed this to a "Moodle Links" module in the Feature Requests Forum:
www.joomdle.com/en/forum/4-feature-reque...le-links-module#2882

As of now, we have profile and grades.
Please, post to the new thread any other ideas you may have.

Just encountered another question regarding the buy course button.

After hitting the button, the resulting virtuemart page, doesn't show any modules that are set to load when the virtuemart component is called currently display.

Is there an easy way around that? Is there a hidden menu item I should create to get modules to load on that page? I notice there is no item id on the link from the buy course button. I would like to load modules such as the currency conversion module once user reach the purchase pages.
