Thanks for the test feedback John. Will try again on my side to see if we can reproduce the errors too.

Hi there.
Thanks for your input. I just downloaded 2.5.1 and got the same error when installing Joomdle. I will try to find out what is wrong, and let you know.

Thanks, if you had the same experience it suggests that the issue is something in the J 2.5.1 core update. The good news, from my perspective, is that it's likely not an issue with my particular installation.

This is weird.
I made a new J2.5.1 installation, and Joomdle installation went fine, so it seems it is not always failing.
This seems to be the same error when building admin menus. Try the fix here:
www.joomdle.com/en/forum/joomdle-for-joo...building-admin-menus
And then reinstall Joomdle.

Kudos!
I deleted all references to Joomdle in the _menu table and all Joomdle tables in the database (not sure why they weren't deleted earlier?).
Reinstalled Joomdle from my server via the extension manager and it installed as expected...very interesting.
What I can't see is why the original install failed. The state Joomla was in after deleting the Joomdle tables and _menu entries is the same state it was in at the time of the initial failed installation.
In any event, it seems to be installed and now I'll have to spend some time next week setting it up to work with Moodle.
Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the feedback.
I understand that you are puzzled. Me too!
My tests were 2 installations, from the same package, on the same server, one day after the other. Once it worked, once it failed. No apparent reason, and no way to replicate now. Will keep my eyes open

After all the preceeding I discovered Godaddy doesn't support XML RPC on their shared LINUX accounts. LOL

Yes John. There are a few threads in here where this has been a problem - we discovered this a few years back with their shared hosting accounts.
Unfortunately, checking your hosting provider is not something people normally do until you run into problems.

You're correct on that. However, I have to say that I've known Bob Parsons since the old Parsons Technology days and have used Godaddy services since virtually their day one, after changing the name from Jomax...and this is the first time I've had a problem like this. Guess I can't complain too much. LOL
That said it is a bit of a pain but since the project is a personal research effort I guess I'll just use Moodle in it's native format and link between the two sides.
Thanks for your help.
