Joomdle enrolment button appears to do nothing

Using Moodle 3.1, Jmoodle 1.5 with both moodle plugins installed and enabled in Moodle.

I have a menu item using the Course List display. They can select the course name and are shown the name, Course Topics link, Course Contents link Course grading system (I am logged in as Superuser) then the 'Enrol into Course' button.

Selecting the button produces no visible actions. I am looking in the Joomdle Course request view on the backend and don't see any selections appear there nor in moodle.

Joomla/Moodle syncronization done, System Health Check is good, no problems.

So It appears I have obviously done something wrong somewhere, most likely within Moodle. I just can't figure it out.

You should not test with super user, but with a normal user instead.

Enrol to course button should enrol user to course, and redirect to it.

I took your answer at face value and on my dev site, completely reinstalled moodle, imported the class, went through the joomdle health test and proceeded to find the same issue. The button is not 'firing' for some reason. I can inspect the button, place the command in the URL and it works as you say it should. I 'go gack' to the originating page in Joomla and now see a 'Go to course' button. It doesn't 'fire' off either but if I type the command in the URL again that is shown in the inspector (Chrome and Firefox) it works as I would expect it to and as you are expecting it to.

So, what other plugings or modules might effect this? I turned off JCH Optimize which I've found had found a bit problematic in Joomla 2.5.x previously but without any change this time. I've cleared both caches, Joomla and browser before retrying. Still no success with the buttons, but success with utilizing the command from the button, yes, it does work. (ie: www.site.com/component/joomdle/course/2?Itemid= )

By all appearances it is on the Joomla side of the house somewhere. Any thoughts?

I just tested in my local installation and this is working fine. Also, nobody has reported a similar problem.

Are you using stock Joomla template? Maybe it is a template-related problem....

No, I'm using a custom template from Themler I built. I'm going to back up my dev site and install from scratch and test with just the theme I made. That will confirm if the theme is the issue. If not, I will go through installing the extra modules I've installed until I get a hit (ie: it quits working) and then remove it, test again to ensure it is again working and then update you with what I find. Not that you could do anything, but it would be here for someone else to hit on in a search if needed.

You should not need to reinstall all over again - although it is the safest. You should be able to 1) just switch to the default template that comes Joomla 2) disable non Joomla plugins 3) ensure there are no modules on the Joomdle page.

If there is a JS conflict you will see through your inspector and any css issues should be removed by changing to the Joomla default template.

Also to be sure, Antonio was referring to logging in to the front end using the Superuser as Moodle does not have an equivalent front and back end. You will use superuser as normal in the Joomla backend (using a different browser).

I took Antoni's word at face value re: superuser. So I am using just a normal registered ID that I use for user testing. Rather than rebuilding the dev site from scratch, I installed it on my own LAMP stack on my pc.

It's the theme (via Themler), absolutely no doubt. So I need to go talk to them about it.

Themlers 24 Dec update corrected the issue with the theme. Since I had not made any edits since the beginning of Dec, It was pushed out the first time I brought it up in the editor. Glad it fixed it, they changed the entire UI and I have to get familiar with the new one and whatever changes were also deployed.

Appreciate the response. None the less as you are probably aware, starting from scratch is really the simplest way to narrow something down. No, I didn't care to do it, but it was the quickest means for me. I just copied a base LAMP image under VMWare and began troubleshooting. I know, there are other options such as virtualbox, but I've used it for years and I'd upgrade to 12 if I were not underemployed so to speak. But after years of testing Windows installations/builds, etc under it, it's easier to go with the flow so to speak.

Oddly enough if you will, I tried to do the Joomdle install from scratch and memory after proving the theme was the issue on my image only to screw up the production installation But since it doesn't go officially online until 19 Jan 16, I have some breathing room and only you all here will know of my actual snafu .

What boggles my mind is it appears the config (moodle) must go exactly in order as Antoni lays out. I've checked what I got and it matches but doing a system check blows up immediately on the Joomla/Moodle or Moodle/Joomla conversation. In other words, it fails the last 3 tests. I'm stumped having rechecked everything from the Wiki on installation and so admit it is down to nothing more than hubris on my part.

Such is life. Live and learn. I should have long known by now to follow the docs and sequence as shown by not finding a single area that may not be configured properly. Nonetheless, the adage, do it again and repeat until you get it right appears a lesson I needed to review anyway

Agreed following is best. That said, as long as the steps are done. Many times we will not follow the sequence because of trouble shooting or incomplete installs. Given that you are now having the last three Red X, focus on the last one first. Using this www.joomdle.com/wiki/System_health_check , the messages provided do really lead to the solution.
