Moodle 2.9.1 and Joomla 4.3.3 integration using joomdle was created by srinivasa sarma
Hi all,
I have tried to integrate joomla 4.3.3 with moodle 2.9.1 using joomdle 1.02. I have followed the installation part exactly as detailed in the instructions. I failed to integrate and I am getting the following errors in the system health check
a) Joomla cannot connect to Moodle
b) Moodle cannot connect to Joomla
c)Received empty response from Moodle
The site runs on ssl. My moodle installation is in a sub-forlder of the site. Enabled SSL in moodle as well..
I solicit support from the community.
Thanks in advance.

The last error usually means that Joomla cannot find Moodle and is typically related to the url / path. You can see a list of errors and resolutions identified in the health check wiki
www.joomdle.com/wiki/System_health_check
The other two errors will most likely resolve once the final one is fixed.
If you can be more specific with your configuration details, in particular related to joomla and moodle paths it would be helpful. You can xxx out the actual domain or something similar if it is confidential at this time.

Hello Mr. Chris,
Thanks for your immediate response. I could resolve the third error by changing the token validity from current date to 27.7.2030 ( a future date). Could you be more specific on what configuration details are required to resolve the first two errors as well. It is working now.
Regards.

The first two are not always required to be working as they are just checks. The 3rd error was the important one. If that is working you should be able to create Joomla / Joomdle views and test to see if the Moodle course content pulls through. Similarly, you can test SSO.

Suddenly I noticed "Joomdle Web Services Joomla URL seems to be misconfigured in Joomdle auth plugin in Moodle " error thrown by joomdle.
The joomla paths are
public $tmp_path = '/home/xxxxxx/public_html/tmp';
public $log_path = '/home/xxxxx/public_html/logs';
and the moodle path is $CFG->wwwroot =" xxxxxxxxxxxx.com/cvs ";

That is typically referring to the Joomla path not the Joomla temp or log paths. It is normally the url where joomla is.
www.mydomain.com
. You can reply with your Joomla URL defined in Joomdle-Moodle plugin and the Moodle URL defined in Joomdle-Joomla.
There are other possible reasons as well:
- www.joomdle.com/wiki/System_health_check...uth_plugin_in_Moodle
- www.joomdle.com/forum/r08-support/9121-s...-joomdle-auth-plugin
If you are using any firewall extensions, these could also be blocking. Here is one example:

The Joomla URL defined in Joomdle-Moodle plugin ( ssl protocal prefix is not visible in the preview ):
xxx.com
and the Moodle URL defined in Joomdle-Joomla xxx.com/cvs
My main concern is that, the system health check is changing at random and joomdle is not connecting to moodle for unknown reasons.

Well, that is sure a problem. I have never seen that happening since we removed IP address check.
What errors do you get "at random"?

Greetings,
I have been getting the following errors.along with normal behavior (in the normal working condition as well)l . I have set the joomla system error reporting to none to avoid this . For the purpose of investigation I have turned it to maximum and the errors are :
Strict Standards: Non-static method modJoomdleCoursesHelper::filter_by_value() should not be called statically in /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/modules/mod_joomdle_courses/mod_joomdle_courses.php on line 90
and
Notice: Undefined index: cost in /home/xxxxxxxxxx/public_html/modules/mod_joomdle_courses/helper.php on line 26
The above notice is repeating for all the freecourses (in number). I have connected only the free courses category to be displayed with this link. However, no errors are shown while browsing the enrolled courses ( MY courses).

Thanks for the bug report.
Those are just warnings and should have no effect in Joomdle working fine.
I will fix them for next release.
