Moodle logs out randomly

Everything works - except...I can't stay logged into moodle.

Occasionally, I log into Joomla and immediately click on a course from the My Courses module and both Joomla and Moodle give me a login screen. Sometimes it works as expected, but I'd say 30% of the time I get a second login screen. When this occurs, if I click a home link - Joomla will acknowledge that I'm logged in and I can proceed to a course (maybe, maybe not)

While I'm watching a SCORM module, if I click onto another course - sometimes Moodle will ask me to log in again (although Joomla still shows I'm logged in)

There seems to be an issue where the Joomla and Moodle session goes crazy and loses connection.

I've even switched from DB to file sessions withing Joomla and the issue remains.

I decided to try something different...

I logged in, and when I was able to click a course and arrive on the course entry page - I let it sit idle for 5 minutes.

At the end of 5 minutes, I clicked the same course link and moodle was logged out (joomla was not)

i checked the Moodle session timeout, and it's set to 2 hours.

And it gets even weirder!

Now, I'm unable to enter a course - I get this error message:

You are already logged in as Michael Test, you need to log out before logging in as different user.

Of course, logging out doesn't change anything

Something is wrong with session management

I'm getting intermittent "too many redirects" from my browser when attempting to load a moodle page. The error is coming from moodle/login/index.php

Looking around the moodle forums - apparently this is a known issue, and login/index.php should not be used in SSO

It seems you have not yet solved the Paypal dispute you started. Can you please solve that please? I see that you are already downloading the plugins.

First thing is system check: is it all green?
As for your problems: they are quite weird, as nobody has reported anythinglike that before.

The problems have been progressive. At first everything worked great, then occasionally it wouldn't log into Moodle, then after 5 minutes I had to log in again, then I couldn't log in at all.

Now it's the opposite of when I started, occasionally it works - and I can no longer log into moodle directly.

This Moodle system has been running for months between myself and the course developer running through the courses he's putting together. There are only 2 people in it right now.

You say moodle system was working fine before. Was Joomdle already installed, or you installed it recently?
Are you testing with Joomdle users now? Can you test wih a moodle-only user to see if any problem exist?

This is interesting - I cleared the mdl_sessions table of all entries with my IP address, and purged all sessions from the moodledata/sessions folder - and after one attempt to view a course through Joomla - there are 69 entries in the mdl_sessions table with my IP address.

The Moodle system was in place and we were testing courses, Joomdle was only recently installed, last tuesday maybe? One week.

Users are not able to log directly into Moodle anymore. All attempts give this error "Your session has timed out. Please log in again."

With Joomdle, we can get in - occasionally, we just can't go anywhere or do anything.

So, you cannot log in wirh Moodle admin directly to Moodle?
If you cannot log in with a normal non-joomdle moodle admin, I don't think problem will be related to joomdle, as it does nothing in that scenario.
