Suggestion for Children Registration Menu item:

When "Auto create Moodle users" is selected in the Joomdle configuration and when accounts are added through the "Children Registration" Menu item, suggest that the children accounts are automatically created in Moodle as well.

Not sure if this is meant to work this way and it just isn't for my config but we are needing to add students to Moodle in the Joomdle backend when their account is created by their parent via the Children Registration menu item.

Thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron.

This is intended to work like you say.
I think it is not working in your case because you have XIPT profiles integration enabled, so only users with the selected profiles will be created.

I guess a solution would be to add another setting, to let you decide if you want to create moodle accounts for users that do not have a profile type.

Would it be possible to add a setting within the Children Registration menu setup that allows you to pick the JSPT profile type (or JS 2.X) that you would like for all "children" to be associated with that are created within this area? That way, we wouldn't have to manually go back and add the profile type to "unassigned" profiles that were created from the Children Registration menu.

Thanks,
Ron

Seems like a good idea.
I will try to work on it for a future release.

Hi there,

I have a child registration menu but I don't want it to show up when a child logs in. Only when an adult/parent logs in. Do I need JSPT profile types to do this? Currently the menu shows up for all since all users have profile type of "Registered". thanks.

I use JSPT to assign a different user level to for parents, teachers, and students when they register. I can then hide menu items based on views / users. I believe you can also use standard Joomla 2.5+ but there are a few features in JoomlaXI JSPT that are nice - like adding watermarks to everyone's avatar so that you can tell who the students, teachers, and parents are...

Hi Ron,

I just had a quick question since it seems like you were asking a similar question to what I want to ask. I want a new user created via child registration menu to be added to the "students" group that I created rather than being a normal "Registered" group type. Is this currently possible? Thanks.

Hi Ron.

I added the "always create children in moodle" for R0.91, but the "select a profile for children"option will need to wait for next one.
