[Closed] VM 1.98 and joomdle integration was created by Mukund Pehere
Hello,
I have installed successfully joomdle for joomla 1.7 and moodle 2.0. My moodle courses are integrated ok. No I want to put all courses in my VM Shop. I have installed VM 1.98. Now trying to integrate to joomdle I am not finding proper solution. Because our wiki shows only vm 1.1 and joomla 1.5 support. So can you guide me how to integrate the joomdle and vm 1.98 correctly.
Thanks in advance.

Hi.
The shop feature has not been included yet in J1.6/J1.7 version. Work has been started, but it won't be ready until next version, which has no expected release date yet.

Well yes of course. The problem is that the main shopping cart vendors have not released stable versions of J1.7 yet. When VM and Tienda release stable J1.7 versions, we can update Joomdle to support them.
The last I looked ( extensions.joomla.org/extensions/e-commerce/shopping-cart ) there was only 1/2 of the shopping vendors providing support for J1.7, Joomshopping, which currently does not integrate with Joomdle and hikashop which is not even listed in the JED.
So I believe your options are:
1) Wait until VM / Tienda have release stable J1.7 versions. Then we can update Joomdle.
2) Implement using J1.5 rather than J1.7
3) Implement your shopping cart using JoomShopping or hikashop (I have never used either) and sponsor a custom development in Joomdle to integrate one of these carts. Thus far we have not had any requests to integrate Joomshopping and only 1 request to integrate hikashop thus have no plans to do so at the moment.

Yes VM 1.98 in on J1.7 however, VM 1.98 is a RC not a stable release and can still have changes. In fact, some of the APIs, one of which we need to use, is not finalised let alone documented based on my last discussion.
Like you, I use VM 1.98 too in my testing environment and am eagerly waiting for the stable to test it properly before I go live.
Once VM is stable we will look at it and see how much work is required before we give an estimate of the timing. Of course if you are really in need of a working version of Joomdle with vm1.98, you could sponsor such a development recognising that it may be different than the final release. This decision I cannot make for you
