Migrating Joomla 1.5.25 & Moodle 2.0.4 to 1.7 & 2.1.3 #1
Hey all,
So I'm migrating from a Joomla 1.5.25 w/Jomsocial & Moodle 2.0.4 with a successful Joomdle integration to a Joomla 1.7/Jomsocial 2.4 & Moodle 2.1.3 install on a different server. I'm migrating the whole domain so the URLs are technically staying the same. Moodle is in a subdirectory and has its own database. I've installed Joomdle Alpha 8 on both sides to the instructions and as I've previously done. When all is said and done I'm getting "Joomla URL seems to be misconfigured in Joomdle auth plugin in Moodle" or "Received empty response from Moodle" in the check server in Joomla. I know I have all the dependencies installed and working.
Note: The Joomla migration was done with jUpdate with a new install of Joomdle on top of it. Moodle just followed the normal upgrade procedure.
Where am I going wrong? I'm pretty darn sure I've got both URLs correct, www.domain.com k and www.domain.com/moodle k with databases joomla and moodle.

Hi.
I have never done such a migration, so I don't know if there might be any problems.
You say you get 2 error messages: what do you change to get one or the other? They are quite different, as one means "Joomla can't contact Moodle", and the other "Moodle can't contact Joomla".

To get the alternating messages I enter either the correct URL (
www.domain.com/moodle
k) or an alias URL (
www1.domain.com/moodle
k). Either way I'm pretty sure I can get Joomla to hit Moodle, but for some reason Moodle doesn't seem to want to talk back.

Hi.
You need to enter the actual URL in all Joomdle config (both Joomla and Moodle), as any redirection will break web services.
Maybe you used an alias as joomla url in moodle, and so you get "Joomla url misconfigured" error.

I've tried just about every permeation possible. Including the correct URLs in both Joomla and Moodle. Could it be PHP? I'm running PHP 5.3.8 on CentOS6.1.
I'm gonna try it on an Ubuntu 10.04 server with PHP 5.3.2

I don't think PHP has anything to do...
Are you using multilang in Joomla? If so, have you set the default lang in joomdle config? Are you running SEF on or off?

No I'm not using multilanguage features. I have tried it with the built in SEF on and off. Still no joy.
