Hello,

I'm trying to install Joomdle 1.0 on Joomla 3.3.6 ( www.website.com ) and Moodle 2.8.5 ( www.subdomain.website.com/moodle ).

I followed the installation instructions, but am still facing three red Xs in the System Check. Feeling a bit like a losing contestant on Family Feud. Your help to get this up and running is greatly appreciated.

What are the error messages you are seeing beside the red X?

Aside from that, I suspect your domains are not entered correctly. Are you sure your subdomain is www.subdomain.website.com/moodle ? Normally there is no www. infront of a subdomain. Also, are you intentionally using a subdomain for a reason given that moodle is in a folder below Joomla? For your urls simply try www.website.com and www.website.com/moodle .

Chris,

Thank you for the reply.
You were correct about the domains being entered incorrectly. I fixed that and now the bottom entry is the only one with a red X. The error states "An unexpected error happened: 404: Unknown error."

To answer your question about structure, the Joomla and Moodle sites were originally hosted on two separate hosts and this made things easier. I can probably restructure if you think it would cause issues in Joomdle to keep it the way it is.

I checked here: www.joomdle.com/wiki/System_health_check#Joomdle_Web_Services and tried just about everything except for adding the site IP to MOodle's XML-RPC trusted host list. I can't seem to find this in my version of Moodle. If you could please direct me there, I can try and see if it fixes things. Thank you.

You should not need to use the IP address anywhere if you are using Joomdle 1.

There could be a few reasons for that error. A quick search in the forum and you will see:
- Joomdle functions in Moodle not added. If you upgraded you will need to add the additional funcitons.
- Permissions problem on the auth and/or enrol folders in Moodle
- Possibly an invalid token

Chris,
Thank you for your reply.

These are both fresh installs of Joomla and Moodle, so no upgrading was done and I'm using the most current version of Joomdle available on the site.

Although I am a more seasoned Joomla user, I am a brand new MOodle user. If you could please be more specific in your directions as the where to find things, I would greatly appreciate it. How do I check the first two suggestions i your list? I checked the tokens and they are good in both Moodle and Joomla.

I enabled debugging and found no errors displayed. HOWEVER, when I log out of my admin account and try to create a new user account, it returns with the following errors:

Debug info:
Error code: notlocalisederrormessage
Stack trace:

line 463 of /lib/setuplib.php: moodle_exception thrown
line 37 of /login/signup.php: call to print_error()

I'm hoping this will help identify the issue. Thank you again for your responses.

Hi.

Those errors do not seem related to Joomdle, so maybe you have some problem in your Moodle installation.

About the 404 error: enable debugging in Moodle to get more info.

Debugging is enabled and the above post is what I got. I have been trying to at least find a way students can register (class was supposed to begin yesterday) and when I try to create a new user account, the following is now what I see:

Tried to send you an email but failed!

More information about this error
Debug info:
Error code: auth_emailnoemail
Stack trace:

line 463 of /lib/setuplib.php: moodle_exception thrown
line 106 of /auth/email/auth.php: call to print_error()
line 70 of /login/signup.php: call to auth_plugin_email->user_signup()

Thank you.

As I said those errors are not related to Joomdle, so you may want to create a new Moodle installation if it is empty, as it seems to have problems.

You can also go to system check with debug enabled and you should get more info.
