Possible Moodle Login back door? was created by paurray
Hello Antonio

I am wondering about the following…

If I go here:
www.finalbug.net/courses-fcpx-and-relate...n-tools/fcpx-not-pro
And click on the first item “FCPX NOT Pro 01”
I can access the first item "01a Webinar : Steps 01-03 Page" as a guest.
Fair enough.

The second item is a quiz “01b Quiz: Basic Interface”
The link seems to be trying to take me here:
www.finalbug.net/moodle/mod/quiz/view.php?id=284
Although sometimes clicking on this link takes me to a further page where I am told that I can but need to log in first…
…where pressing continue takes me to a login…

…regardless of whether this happens in one or two steps the next link is:

www.finalbug.net/index.php?option=com_users&view=login

Which I guess is a login for Moodle?

Can you confirm kindly confirm if my suspicion is correct and suggest how I should proceed?

I do not know if this is an bug or normal?

I would have though that this is taken care of by the “Single Sign-On (and off)” system?

And that I get taken here:

www.finalbug.net/login-here

thanks

Paul

Hi.

If you try to access a page only for logged users while you are a guest, the syste, will redirect you to Joomla login page (the URL you shared, which is the non-sef url for login)

Hi Antonio

Thank you fro your response.
So this is normal then.
Which means I have a choice.

a) Figure out a way to show Quizzes etc only to users who are logged in?
b) Do some kind of redirect from:
www.finalbug.net/index.php?option=com_users&view=login
to
www.finalbug.net/login-here

I know there are redirect plugins in Joomla & Moodle…
I am guessing that this is a redirect for Moodle.
I am not even sure if doing a redirect is a good idea.

It is just more stuff that can break!

all the best

Paul

ps for what ever reason I am seeing images on your site again!

Hi Paul.

I am not sure why you want to redirect... onlu to not show non-sef URL in that case?

I don't know what you mean here, sorry. There is no Moodle involved in this redirection you are proposing.

For any one who stumbles across this.
This was not a Moodle login window but a Joomla login.

I understand that the Quiz was not available to the public and what ever happened the user was redirected to the Joomla login!
Still do not know exactly why but...

If you are using Easy Social at least a solution is to go here:
extensions>plugins>system-easysocial
And activate the system-easysocial plugin

As of now the quiz can be seen by a none registered user and the second they attempt to partake in the quiz they get redirected to the ES login. :cheer:
