Jomsocial Joomdle user check - Plug-in was created by Robert
Hi,
Just installed the Jomsocial Joomdle user check plug-in and it seems to work fine and do its job, but now when someone tries to sign-up with an already existing username or e-mail in Moodle, the sign-up page simply refreshes with no comment. Has someone experience or tips on how I can create an error message, telling this user 's username or e-mail already exists ?
Thanks for any hints, ideas...

This is weird. Doesn't it will create user in Joomla and Joomla able to tell that the user already exist in Joomla?
It seems for me like nothing to do with Joomdle!
Try to disable Joomdle and see what happens!

Apparently, it has something to do with the fact that further restrictions are being applied to the username (e.g. small caps, no spaces) due to Moodle. I now just wonder how I can make a new user alert during sign-up, not to use caps and spaces. This issue is related to Joomdle insofar that, I am confronted with this ever since the Jomsocial/Joomdle user check plug-in has been activated and I wonder if such an alert is, or could be integrated into this plug-in.

Simply publish a custom module on the registration page (with menu assignment) and then set access level of the module to be Guest.

Hi Robert.
What Jomsocial version are you using? I just tested on 4.2.3 and it is correctly showing the "username must be lowercase" message when you enter a username with caps.
Also, entering a username that exists in Moodle. it shows the "email or username already in use in moodle" message.

Hi Antonio,
We are using JomSocial 4.2.6 and while I do see a message when an E-mail or Username already exists in Joomla, there is no mention of moodle in the message and definitely no message showing username must be lowercase... the page simply refreshes, that's all.
Are these messages you mention part of the Jomsocial Joomdle user check plug-in ?

Yes, this messages are shown by the plugin when user enters invalid data.
Please write to antonio at joomdle dot com so we can investigate this further.
