Error: Joomdle version is different in Joomla and Moodle was created by corpkilljoy
Hello.
I have been trying to get Joomdle working. I have tried many times but always fail in the last step, that is, the "Joomdle Web Services" under System Health Check. I keep getting the error "Joomdle version is different in Joomla and Moodle". But I have used the correct Joomdle packages each time I try to install. To illustrate:
Joomla 3.2 + Moodle 2.61 + Joomdle 1.07 = ERROR, also
Joomla 3.2 + Moodle 2.61 + Joomdle 1.08 = still ERROR (!)
I have uninstaled, reinstalled and checked. Everything I've done is according to to the instructions. I don't know why I get that error when I am using plugins from a single Joomdle package each time I try (i.e. I don't mix up the versions when I install).
I hope you can help.

Hi.
The version error is caused by having a different Joomdle version installed in Joomla and Moodle. Just install 1.0.8 in both platforms, and error should go away.

Hello, Antonio. Thank you for replying. I have done what you said multiple times. I installed Joomdle 1.0.8 on a Joomla 3.2 and Moodle 2.61. But I always get the same error, saying "Joomdle version is different in Joomla and Moodle". Please see the attached files for the proofs that I did use Joomdle 1.0.8.
I have done this twice on two different Debian environments, once on OSX, and once on a Windows environment. The error is always the same. I even deleted the databases and site files as well as the Moodle data files, re-installed Joomla and Moodle from scratch and re-installed Joomdle. It's still the same. I don't really understand what is happening. The fix should be obvious and easy, but it isn't because I have done the correct steps and I still get the same error. Do you have any other clues on why this is happening?

Solved.
I used Moodle 2.9.1, Joomla 3.4.3 and Joomdle 1.0.8.
The file auth_joomdle.zip plugin that came with the joomdle_v1.0.8-for-joomla30-UNZIP-FIRST.zip package caused problems and I had to download and use auth_joomdle_moodle32_2008080276.zip instead.

Glad to know that you solved it. I am thinking that the version mismatch problem may come from using an older Moodle, as the "release" field in version file was added not so much time ago, and that's what Joomdle uses to check version.
As for the different auth plugins: I just checked, doing a diff, and those 2 files are exactly the same (as it must be) so I think the problems you had could be caused by something else.
Thank you for letting us know that you got it right.
