Vertical navigation buttons in Chrome/IE

Vertical navigation buttons in Chrome/IE was created by marie-anne
Joomla 3.7.4, Moodle 3.3.1, Joomdle latest. (migrated from Moodle 2.x)
I'm having trouble with the vertical navigation buttons in the wrapper (see attachments). In Firefox they look like they should look, in Chrome/IE they don't rotate, the text is there, you just don't see it.
In Moodle itself the buttons are ok. When I switch to another template (protostart or something else) the problem persists.
Has anyone an idea how to fix this?
