Thank you very much for this helpful info about the proper way to setup Moodle Cookie Path in Joomdle configuration.
It is actually in the documentation, but I didn't realize.
Anyways, I had the same symptoms, and your post helped me greatly !!

My problem was fixed following your instructions.
In Joomdle doc, it is shown in the pictures only, and a bit differently, so comparing both your post and the doc helped me understand that the cookies path is the relative path from where Joomla is installed on your server.

In other words:

If your website is :
https://mysuperduperjoomlasite.com
and your Moodle app shows up in :
https://mysuperduperjoomlasite.com/moodle
Then, it all depends on your Joomla directory server setup...
If Joomla is installed directly in your /public_html directory (or the equivalent root directory of your Joomla website main domain)
That would mean that your Moodle app was installed in /public_html/moodle/
then the "Moodle Cookie Path" you would have to indicate in the Joomdle config in Joomla would be : /moodle/
Just like in your post solution.

On the other hand if Joomla was installed in your /public_html/j30 directory (like it is shown in Joomdle doc picture)
Then your Moodle app would actually be installed in /public_html/j30/moodle
and the "Moodle Cookie path" you would then have to indicate in the Joomdle config in Joomla would be : /j30/moodle/
Just like in Joomdle doc.

And SSO will work seamlessly well both ways.

ok and i understand completely what you say.
I just wanted to know if your Joomla and Moodle are on the same domain path or on two different domains?

Same domain.
All samples I gave are from same domain. I don't know how it would work on different domains.

My bad ! Actually Joomdle doc explains very clearly how to set that cookie path (not only in the photo) and does specify it is only useful for redirect less SSO (see the attachments).

Moodle Cookie Path:
This option is only needed for redirect-less SSO. You will need to copy here the value that you can find in the Cookie path setting in Moodle->Site Administration->Server->Session Handling.

We (I actually mean I) so often do not read the doc carefully enough !! Sorry about that.
