Password sync when migrating moodle users into joomla

Is there any way to migrate existing passwords into Joomla when importing users from Moodle?

I saw another thread mention that the password hashing algorithm recently changed in Moodle and is no longer the same as Joomlas so i'm guessing it may not be possible. Just looking for the definitive answer.
