Joomla Users not logged out from Joomla site

When a user logs out from Moodle, they stay logged in to Joomla. when I log the user out of Joomla and go through admin, the user is still logged in. When the user wants to login again they can not because they are still logged in even hours later.

I cannot figure out what the issue might be. Though it was an issue with different Moodle and Joomla installations, fixing that did not change the problem.

Using Joomla 5.2.4, PHP8.3.9, MySQLi 10.6.18-MariaDB and Moodle 4.4.5+

It seems that it is a Joomla issue that has to do with the Remember Me Settings causing the issue. I have removed that now and checked on Joomla for other plugins that might cause the issue.

I picked up that Moodle updated the Joomdle plugin, but the Joomla one was not updated. Had to manually do that. Busy testing now to see if the client is logged out of Joomla.

So far the logout is working. It seems that Joomla and Moodle are logging out the users correctly on my tests. I still have redirect-less SSO enabled on both sides.

I think cleaning the cache in the database and the Rember Me info in Joomla, plus getting the same version of Joomdle on both Joomla and Moodle, has eventually resolved the issue.

I picked up an issue with Joomla. When someone logs in to Joomla and goes to their course in Moodle, then logs out of Moodle they are logged out of Joomla too.

When they log in to Joomla and log out of Joomla without entering their course on the Moodle site, they stay logged in within Joomla. Then they cannot log in again on the Joomla site.

When they log in on Joomla, enter the course in Moodle, and log out of Moodle, the Joomla instance is also logged out.

If they only log into Joomla, do not enter the Moodle course, and then log out, they stay logged in to Joomla. When they go back to Joomla, they cannot log in since the system still shows them as logged in to Joomla.

Hopefully, this will make the issue clearer. I think it must be a Joomla issue, not a Joomdle issue.
