Hello - I like what you are doing with this system - great focus on integration from both sides along with the modules. Also noticed that you just updated the software. So that said, I am looking to install Joomdle.

Before I do though, wanted to just double check and make sure that this verison is stable and working in other production environments? Just do not want to have 100 students emailing me a day, asking why something isn't working - and blaming me for not getting their homework done!

If so, I'll make the jump and give updates as needed here and on Joomla.org / Moodle.org. BTW - are you posting this as a download on Moodle as well? You may get even more interest. I could only find one other Joomla integration download directly on Moodle, but it doesn't seem to have the same in depth Joomla features / modules that your system has.

Thanks,
Ron

Hi.

About production enviroments: I know of a person who is using it in production, but I don't really know his requirements, or yours. The rest of the people I have spoken to, are starting to deploy it.

So, if I were you I would do a test before to know wether it really fits your needs :)

I have not posted it to Moodle.org yet, I always forget about it. I will try to do it today. Thanks for the suggestion.

Come back if you have any problems installing/using or if you have any feature requests :)

Thanks for the quick reply.

Just so that you have an idea of our high level requirements / solution:

150 students, 75 parents, 25 teachers, ~50 classes

Extending "classroom time" online.
Automation of registration / administrative functions for admin and teachers

Moodle 1.9: Class registration, course management, grading, calendar, etc. Usual needs.
Joomla 1.5.14: RocketTheme Template w/Gantry, School Store (RokQuickCart), Parent Forum (Kunena), Messaging System (UddeIM), User Mgmt (Community Builder 1.2).
Google Apps: Teacher / Admin email, Google docs, etc.

Authenticate Moodle via Joomla username / password - with SSO Joomla to Moodle.
Integration for student information - Show Moodle class info on Joomla pages
Ability to see classes registered with link to each class once student signs into Joomla
Ability to see overall course catagories with link to list of classes.
Ability to see teacher biographies and courses

I also like the idea of supporting Wrapper mentioned in your roadmap area.

I will test it out in a pre-production environment first and report back here what I find. Thanks for your help!

Hi. I think that the number of stundents is not a problem with Joomdle, as it basically set up SSO for them.

About administrative functions: right now there is nothing of that in Joomdle.
That was not part of the initial project requirements, and have not thought very much about it yet.
So , if you try Joomdle, please tell us what administrative functions you would like to see implemented.

As for the integration:
- Authenticate Moodle via Joomla username / password - with SSO Joomla to Moodle. OK. But there is no password for Moodle. Users have to log in to Moodle via Joomla.
- Ability to see classes registered with link to each class once student signs into Joomla. OK.
- Ability to see overall course catagories with link to list of classes. OK.
- Ability to see teacher biographies and courses. Not yet. If you want, you can give a more detailed description of this (I am not that saavy about Moodle) so it can be implemented in the future.

The wrapper idea is already in the works.

So, please test and tell us what features you would like to see implemented.
