[Solved] Joomla to Moodle authentication problem was created by Thomas Edwards
Hi there

I have installed version 0.22 onto Moodle 1.9.7+ and Joomla 1.5.

With the previous version users could click on the link in "My Courses" and be passed straight into their course.

This time round, the user clicks on the link and are left with a blank page.
I noticed "wantsurl" was not in the url, is this a problem?

The following is the url passed from Joomla to Moodle:

mymoodlesite/auth/joomdle/land.php?
username=tedwards&token=58ea8d64e95869b7c0eb4e9f280b9e4e
&mtype=course&id=442&use_wrapper=0

Is this url ok?
If not, what am I missing and if so, what should I look at within Moodle?

I have gone over the installation instructions numerous times now but still having no luck.

All the best

Hi.
Did you activate and configure the joomdlehooks and joomdle plugins in joomla?

The url is OK, the system changed a bit in this version.
I assume you installed 0.22 on moodle too.

Antonio

Hi Antonio

Thanks for your response.
Yes the "User hooks - Joomdle" is configured and activated.
Also, yes, it's version 0.22 on Moodle too.

I think it may be a Moodle issue as Joomla is getting the courses just fine.
There is only an issue when attempting to enter one of the courses on the list.

Regards
Thomas

Try this:
- Log in with user in joomla
- Go to moodle writing the url in the browser, to see if the user is logged correctly via joomdlehooks plugin.

If not, check that everything is configured the same (www or not www)

Hi again

I logged into Joomla, copied the link to one of my courses, opened Moodle and pasted the copied link into the browser.

I get a blank page same as before. No errors and no success.

Thanks
Thomas

Sorry, I meant that you go directly to your moodle root, www.site.com/moodle , or the like.

Antonio

I can only apologise!

I had the xml-rpc set to registered in my Joomla site.
Once set to public, everything worked great as it should.

I was supposed to set the "My Courses" to registered instead.
My mistake.

Thank you once again for your help and time, it's appreciated.

All the best
