General question #1
Hi,
I'm just building a plattform for teachers an schools. At this time it is possible to presentate via sobi2, manage offline seminars via seminar and use some special partner offers. Because there is also a job-market open for all users integrated I have to manage the rights of the user - so all teachers/schools are authors.
Yesterday I had a look, what also would be interesting for my teachers - and then I found Joomdle. Because I havent worked with moodle and joomdle I want to ask some questions, to get to know what is possible.
1.) Is it possible to give all authors teacher rights?
2.) Is it possible for teachers to manage their courses in the frontend?
3.) Is it possible that teachers manage the students theirself? - I think selling will only be possible for one "account" - so I would prefere that way:
- Joomla registered users can register to a course
- The teacher of the course gets the students data and get send a bill
- After the payment the teacher aktivates the course for the student
It would be really great if this will work.
Thanks for answers!

General question #2
Hi.
1) Not at the moment. Of course, it could be developed.
2) No. There are no features in Joomdle especifically for teachers yet. Can you ellaborate on how do you see this working? / What features would be desired?
3) This is not how Joomde works today. Instead, the user gets auto-enroled in the course when he completes payment, either in a shop component (Virtuemart or Tienda) or directly through paypal.

General question #3
Hi,
thanks for your answer!
1.) So I have to define users as teachers by hand?
2.) I dont have that big overwiew via moodle - but it should be possible in Moodle, that teachers create their own courses and manage those. So this should be possible also in Joomla by using Joomdle. So something like a teachers module with the features a teacher needs, to create an manage the courses.
3.) Okay - at this time Joomdle seems to be created for one company usage. I need a community version It is not necessary that user can pay directly the courses to the teacher, but they should be able to register to a course (also one you have to pay for) and the teacher can give the right to use the course or not by hand.
Chris

General question #4
Hi there,
To further expand upon what Antonio is saying ....
1) Is it possible to give all authors teacher rights?
- This would need to be developed as Antonio has suggested.
- An alternative would be to create teachers in Moodle and give them access through Moodle (ie teachers go direct to Moodle)
2) Is it possible for teachers to manage their courses in the frontend?
- One of the objectives of Moodle is to allow teachers to create their own courses and make them available to students.
- This is not the objective of Joomdle. Joomdle integrates Joomla and Moodle and allows some information in Moodle to be passed to Joomla for display. Joomdle does not replace Moodle's features. Why not have teachers log into Moodle to create their courses like any other school or company? I think at most, we could create a few teacher modules that allow the teachers to see information in Joomla, however, it would not be appropriate to create components/modules that replace the creation and editing features of course management. This is the job of Moodle.
3) I think you have a few ways to achieve this.
- Teachers hand out coupons to students which could be entered into Joomla during registration. This Joomdle could manage.
- Students could register through Joomla / Joomdle using a off-line payment option in Virtuemart. Once the payment has been received, the student would be enrolled into the course.
- For both of the above we would need to customise Joomdle a little to achieve this.
"At this time Joomdle seems to be created for one company usage. I need a community version".
Yes and no. Aside from Joomdle, how do you expect Joomla and/or Moodle to manage multiple companies. Are you going to have multiple domains? Multiple look & feel? Multiple invoices for payment? etc. You do not typically see Joomla and/or Moodle running like a hosted environment (ASP). In fact, Moodle doesn't support this at all, whereas in Joomla we can do a little bit of it.

General question #5
Hi Chris,
thanks for your answer. I think I will try to handle it in step 2 of the site, because there are a lot of things I have to figure out in Joomdle and Moodle.
The site will be a kind of community with teachers and schools - so a lot of companies. The seminar component from vollmar.ws works good for this purpose, but I also do not make any payment online. The teachers/schools have to manage that offline, and set the payment by hand in seminar.
But here you told me a good way with the coupons.
I just think, that I will need some more time to spent especially on moodle, to get to know how to integrate it the best way in my site.
So I think I will come back to you in some weeks for the point No. 1 - to get automatic teachers
Thanks again
