[Solved] moodle joomdle cyrillic problem was created by Rumen Grozev
Hi

Sorry for my bad english.

I have a problem with comunication between moodle and joomdle. The problem is when I update a profile of a user (names, city and address are with cyrillic characters). After update all fields with cyrillic characters are not cyrillic characters (look at the pic-attachment). The users are from Joomla and their auth column in mdl_user table in the datebase are "joomdle". I change "joomdle" to "manual" and when update the profile there is no problem but there is no comunnication with the Joomla.

Thanks

Did the usernames contain cyrillic too? That is not supported yet.

As for profiles updates: do you update from moodle or joomla?

Which joomdle and moodle versions are you using?

Hello
My info system is:
Moodle 2.0
Joomla 1.5.20
Joomdle R0.4
My usernames are with latin characters.
The fields with cyrillic characters are - First name, Last name, Town/City and Address.
I try many options.
1. User register in the Joomla site.
2. When the registered user click on the link to Moodle site then automaticly is registered in Moodle. In the datebase of Moodle table mdl_user in column "auth" is "joomdle".
3. If I change some information of user in Joomla site it's normal and then when click on link to Moodle the information is update normaly. But when I edit profil in Moodle and click save something between Moodle and Joomla by Joomdle crash the encoding or something else I dont know but information with cyrillic characters is not like before (you can see on the pic).
When I create a user in Moodle the "auth" column is "manual" and when I update the profile nothing wrongs but the information didnt update in Joomla.

You can try the options with some example data:
First name: Иван
Last name: Иванов
Town: Пловдив
Address: Тракия 10

Thanks
