plugin? module in component? was created by Lisa Norman
We're loving Joomdle and the site has gone live with surprisingly few hitches. A few people couldn't get in. I suspect user error. One user became unsync'd between the tables, but he was also online when the server reset...so -- all in all, looks great!

Question: my customer has a series of screens where she talks about the classes. She has a paypal button there that just goes to paypal. I'd like to make that a Joomdle payment button that also enrolls them in the class.

Is there a plugin that does this? Or is the current method just using the component class overview screens?

Thank you for this great integration! (And your patience during my initial setup weirdness.)

As part of the Joomdle moodle code, there is an enroll module. Upload this to Moodle and configure.

How are students paying for their courses? VM, Tienda, Moodle Paypal ?

I'm only seeing:
Joomdle Abc
Joomdle Calendar
Joomdle Courses
Joomdle Mentees
Joomdle My Courses
Joomdle My Grades

-- I'm not seeing a module for Joomla that would allow them to enroll in the course. I know that they can enroll through the Courses page, but what I was hoping for was something more like a paypal button link.

Right now they read the various description pages and then click on a customized paypal button. Once they pay they are manually enrolled.

The client is happy with that, but I'm not. :S

My other option is to configure the class overview pages to match her pages, but so far they lack the look and flair of the ones she's done herself. Maybe I just need to move her in that direction...more forcefully.

The Moodle paypal component is all configured and if they do choose to paypal-enroll from within the "school" while taking another class, they can do that and it will work through Moodle fine. I've tested that. I was just hoping for some sort of plugin that I could drop a button onto her overview pages. (Some of them are interacting with other information, other articles, etc...so they're more than just the basic moodle page that I could drop into a wrapper. Drat.)

Am I missing a Joomla module?

Have a look at your joomdle configuration panel (inside joomla) there is an option to auto-enroll students there. This would when payment has been done. I suspect your problem is because you have setup your own paypal button and therefore the auto-enroll code will not be activated.

Aside from the configuration parameter, you need to upload the enroll code into the enroll folder which is part of the joomdle package.

Yes. Currently we have our own paypal button on a page with non-moodle articles about the moodle classes. Joomdle is not in play at all. They pay then the teacher enrolls them through the manual enrollments.

I get that the system can auto-enroll if they push the button on a Joomdle page, but that isn't what I've got going on.

They do have to push SOME button, right? So I'd need a button on the page to trigger the auto-enrollment. This would replace our current paypal button with a Joomdle button. But how do I get that button?

Am I making sense? If we use a Joomdle generated page with a Joomdle generated button then it works. (blink) Or...maybe if I just copy the coding from that page and paste it into our other page? Would that work?

Yes you will need to copy the code from the Joomdle enroll button into yours.

Thanks! I should have thought of that sooner. Duh.

Sounds great!
