A Few Questions About Joomdle

New to Moodle and JomSocial, but not to Joomla (since 1996), and I'm loving what I'm seeing so far. *smiles*

I just have a few questions:

1. Why use groups in JomSocial, when you have Moodle? What does that do that Moodle doesn't?

2. Is there a way to get activities within courses to post to the activity list? Like "SoandSo responded to 'Welcome' in Networking."

3. The JomSocial Avatars pull into Moodle, but don't show in the Moodle cron emails.

1- I don't know. You have them available, can use them or not

2- Not at the moment: there are no hooks in Moodle to trigger those updates.

3- Don't understand this one.

3. Moodle cron emails have the avatar in them, but in my site's emails, they are a broken link. See the attachment.

2- Don't know. This is Moodle side, so we have no influence there.

3- Never used those emails.
So, you say that for a normal moodle user, the email is sent with the user pic.
But, for Joomdle users, pic is broken?

2. Gotcha. Hmmm. I wonder if that's something I could do.

3. Well, when I get emails from Moodle, sure. I don't have any users in any classes that are not Joomla users. I suppose I could go in as my Moodle admin (not in Joomla) and test.

2. Which 'moodle activities' do you want to show in wall?

You seem to talk about forums: I think this could be possible (there is a hook for this in moodle), but it is not currently implemented in Joomdle.

There is an event wishlist also, so people can suggest new ones. I don't know when/if they will implement them.

To include new hooks yourself, you would need to hack core Moodle code, which I don't recommend at all.

3. Will wait for that. You can also create a moodle test user for just this.

2. Any of the activities that show in a course.
