refunded in VM, student still registered in the cours ? was created by Martin Poirier
Hi, all students buying courses get registered automatically in Moodle, great ! But if a student changes his mind and wants to have another course instead of the one he bought. Is this suppose to be automatic or must we go in the Moodle backend and remove by hand that student from that course ?
Using Moodle 1.9, Joomla 1.5, VirtueMart 1.1.7a and Joomdle 0.5
thx in advance ... Cyr

Hi.
You will have to do it manually: there is no code in Joomdle to do that, as I think it would require hacking core VM files.
How is the process you do in VM to change one product by another? (haven't used VM much myself)

manually ... ok then
process of replacing a course in VM : no magic trick, refund of the course in the existing order and then create a new one with the desired one.
thx anyway

Hi there,
From a accounting / audit point of view you should cancel the first course and register for a new one. While you may hide this process from the user, accounting standards dictate two transactions.
Do you allow cancellation through VM today?
From a business point of view, IMO, I do not like to make cancellation an easy option for customers. Who likes to give money away? Instead, I would have the user send a manual request using a form and potentially charge an administration fee. You may also need to consider the point in time when the cancellation / change is requested. Is it 1 week before the course starts? Is it 1 week after they have already started? etc.
