Community Builder Fields was created by Chris
I am trying to map data from CB. I see the CB field, which is greyed out and I have the option to map Joomla fields to Moodle. I am not seeing a field for email in the Joomla dropdown. I see almost everyting else, even extra fields I created in CB. I also see email field in Moodle dropdown, just not in Joomla dropdown. Ultimate issue is that when I try to go toa course the email is not filled into Moodle, and there is no field available to manually enter it. Anyone have any thoughts?

Hi.

In theory, email should be grabbed from main joomla info of user, if it is available.

As for not having a field in moodle to enter email, I guess you have set some locking in joomdle config in moodle.

so would that mean I do not need to map it?

I added a screenshot of my specific issue. I have checked db permissions, etc. I have no idea of where else to check. Using CB 1.4 and I reinstalled the CB_joomlahooks plugin that is included in the .51 release.

Not sure what you mean by "if it is available." Email is a required field for registration. How would I check availability?

Thanks,
Chris

Basically, you have reported two issues. Antonio has provided two responses :)

1) email is not there for mapping. email is mapped automatically so its not necessary

2) you say that in moodle "there is no field available to manually enter it". This suggests that the email field is locked in Moodle (Joomdle configuration in Moodle) so that you cannot edit it.

Thanks Chris. I understand that email is mapped automatically. Maybe I did not state my problem correctly but this is what happens:
1. User visits site and browses courses through Joomdle course browser
2. user chooses course and clicks "enroll into course"
3. user is prompted to login or register, he chooses register(through CB)
4. registration happens and he logs in. He then has to browse back to the course and choose enroll again. When this is clicked I get a 403 Error. (I believe this is another issue aside from what I am trying to explain, but I am not sure if it related)

5. User presses back button, and is taken the the course description now with a "go to course button" where the enroll button was. When this is clicked,

6. User is now prompted to tell us more about yourself in the Moodle registration ( I unlocked it within Moodle)(This is where the email address is not filled in and must be entered again by the user)When I do enter the email address, it tries to email me a registration link from Moodle so that I can confirm my account.

Sorry for this many questions. Any help by you guys is greatly appreciated.
