Multi-Store Concept

I want to make a shopping system where the shopkeeper can replicate certain products into little "stores". He sells promotional products- so some soccer team wants a shirt, a hat, and a banner with their name on it, so he makes a copy of those products, and creates a little store for them.

The customer's school color is green. So we can let the shopkeeper say, for this mysite.com/school1 store, add the Green Shirt, except also use this picture of the Green Shirt showing the School 1 customization.

Then, School1 sends out an email...support our school, go buy some stuff at mysite.com/school1.

In my first spin through Joomdle, there is the ability to add a "course" to a VM or Tienda Category, but it looks like the current setup is that all courses are added to the same category? It seems like category could be the key to making the /school1 mini-shops.

My intuition is that there's some stuff in Joomdle that could work for my concept. Can someone more experienced shed a little more light?

You are correct that at this time only 1 category is supported. We did have thoughts about allowing the admin to choose the category for each shop however that functionality was not sponsored. That said, using Tienda the e-commerce, you can change the category after you publish the course to Tienda using the Tienda category manager / select. In fact the course can belong to many categories.

Implications: If you change the category in Tienda (or not), and you reload the course through Joomdle, the course information will be over written.

As for your particular need. Why not use this feature being made available in Tienda? While not ready yet, it will be a part of their enterprise version. Also, I believe VM has such an add-in ??
