I recently completed a Joomla template that has all positions set. I currently have Moodle in a "wrapper" in the "content" position of my wrapper but this appears inconsistent in different browsers and OS.

This my goal for my Moodle/Joomla template:

My header has my search and other widgets that I would like to keep across the site including the Moodle.

I like controlling the menu items from Joomla and have the menu items appear across the site including Moodle.

My footer navigation will be consistent across the site including Moodle content.

What are my best practice options to get a seamless experience using my template? I am not fond of the wrapper approach.

I also what granular control positioning my Moodle content, navigation, courses, calendar, etc. and not stick with putting Moodle default layout in my wrapper.

Thanks ahead of time

Hi there,

You are asking a pretty difficult question as best practices will relatively be dependant upon your moodle content too.

Perhaps as a start you may wish to look at our demo and indicate which parts you wish to achieve and we can help explain that ?

For your last paragraph, Joomdle does not control the Moodle menus nor layout. Thus if you are displaying any blocks / activities this will be controlled by your Moodle template. Furthermore, if you are using Moodle 1.9x than you will more limited to what you can do. Moodle 2.0 templates give you more control over how the Moodle content is displayed.

Thanks Chris,

fair enough. Is it possible I can send my site link and a brief description of what I want to persist across all pages to you privately and explain what I am doing?

It is a proprietary project and I could use some information.

Thanks again.

Steven
