I have got a brand new installation, of Joomla 1.5, Moodle 2.1 and Joombla. All is installed without a problem but I cannot get the System check to accept the Web Service. I get IP errors. The guide tells me to look for the IP setting in the Joombla Plugin in Joomla. If I go to that plugin at Joomla Extensions> Plugin Manager > Xmlrpc Joomdle and look into the settings the only setting that I see is under "Plugin Parameters". The "Moodle IP address" is set at 0. So how do I use that in my url setting for Moodle? I go into Site Admin > plugins > Authentication > Manage Authentication > Joomdle settings. What do I enter as my Joomla url? My localhost site is set up as http://localhost/testjoomdle and moodle is in the sub-directory http://localhost/testjoomdle/moodle

I have tried all sorts of combinations of entry but cannot get it to work.

I would appreciate suggestions.

David

Hi there,

I am confused by your use of "Joombla". Is this a typo or an extension?

When you say you get IP errors, what is the error message?

Plugin parameters: The Joomdle plugins do not have any parameters. Are you referring to the Joomdle configuration settings? If not what plugins are you referring to?

IP Address should never be set to 0. If you are using localhost then you can try putting in localhost, 127.0.0.1, or the ip address of your PC. This will also depend on which OS and which http server you are using.

Chris, no need to worry about the name. I simply called it that to keep separate from other directories. I have solved the problem by using 127.0.0.1 instead of "localhost". I have now got a clear system check. Interesting what you say about using an IP address of 0 however because that is the default that Joomla appears to have set up on installation. Anyway, all now appears good so I am going to leave it alone. Thank you!
