[Closed] J 1.7 System Check Failure: Joomdle Web Services was created by Rob Scott
Hi-
I know I can't be the first person to use Joomdle with Joomla 1.7 but I can't seem to find any information about this problem. I've read the wiki and searched this forum. The system check fails for web services because there is no longer an option to enable web services as of Joomla 1.6. It's not in the framework.
My question is how do I clear this error?
Thanks!

Hi Antonio-
The exact error is "Received empty response from Moodle"
This setting was discarded in Joomla! 1.6 and 1.7 because of the Xml-rpc changes. I read about it here - docs.joomla.org/Xml-rpc_changes_in_Joomla!_1.6

Enabling xmlrpc in joomla is no longer required in j1.6/1.7.
Empty response means joomla cannot connect to moodle.
Check that you enabled web services and xmlrpc in Moodle, and that the URL you entered in Joomdle config in Joomla is ok (with http:// included)

Antonio-
Thank you for your help. I had two settings misconfigured- I left http:// out of my Joomla url in the Moodle settings and even though I have curl enabled it wants to work with file_get_contents.
Thanks again!

Antonio,
