I know this is a totally newbie question, but you've got to start somewhere.
What is the main determinant of course page layout--Joomla template or Moodle--and does Joomdle have any impact on that?
Along the same lines: is there any Joomla template type that Joomla doesn't work well with?
Finally, I like your own demo layout. Which template is that?
Thank you.

There are a few questions here .... first the easy one. The demo template is from rockettheme. That said, the look and feel is really just how we have positioned the modules. The template is really just providing the base colours, fonts, menu, etc.
As for which you should use, joomla or moodle - you will need to use both as both are independent platforms. Naturally, you will want the two to look as similar as possible. Personally, I would choose a basic moodle layout that fits within your Joomla overall look and feel.
Joomdle, recently, allows some basic styling with some css but this is not applied across all of joomdle yet.
As a newbie, I would just leave the templates alone at first, install and get things working then once you understand more, starting working on the look and feel.

Hello, I have successfully installed Joomdle . Works fine with users integration of moodle and courses enrollments from joomla (with sandbox). Now I wanted to work a little on the front-end. Could you tell me which is the Joomla template that is used in the Joomdle demo? is freeware? you share somewhere?
Thank you very much.
P.
I am working with Joomla 1.5
