Cannot upload and install joomdle-joomla-package.zip in Joom was created by geert
Hello,
I am new in this, but what happened:
when I wanted to upload and install this package in joomla 2.5.1, joomla threw my out of his backend, I had to tell my browser to go back to my previous page(joomla backend).
The logfile on the server says:
[Fri Feb 17 19:12:03 2012] [error] [client (my ip)] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method JXMLElement::getElementByPath() in /srv/www/vhosts/(mydomain)/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_joomdle/install/install.php on line 60, referer: http://mydomain/administrator/index.php?option=com_installer
any ideas?????
thank you in advance

Have you installed the correct version of Joomdle? Do note there are two packages. One for J1.5 and one for J1.7/2.5. I have seen this message with other components when a package written for J1.5 was being installed on J1.7/J2.5.
Aside from the above, I have not seen this error before. We have installed joomdle successfully in 2.5.1 on a number of occasions already - perhaps there is something different about your environment.
- Have you installed other components in your 2.5.1 successfully?
- Have you tried more than once? Same error message?
Regards,
Chris

Hello Chris,
first thank you for the quick response!
-I downloaded the right version, the one below on your site.
-I work on a virtual server, maybe there could be some issues?
-Installing other extensions (Akeeba, Language pack) was no problem.
-I tried several times, everytime I get the same error
If i try to install the zip from the temp dir in joomla. i get:
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
Path does not have a valid package.
Is there another way, instead of "upload and install" in joomla, so i could try it?
And is it wise to do?
If so, where can I find the detailled information for a try?
And could you send me the excact link for the download for joomla 2.5.1. because i am being forwarded?
Carpe Diem

With regards to your second message, ie Cannot find XML setup file, this is most likely because you have not unzipped the download file.
The download file needs to be unzipped first. In there you will find different packages for Joomla and for Moodle. Install the one called "joomdle-joomla-package.zip" for Joomla.
Perhaps your first message was related to this as well.

Hello Chris,
when I used "upload and install" in Joomla 2.5.1, I tryed to install the "joomdle-joomla-package.zip" for Joomla.
That gave me the fatal error!
He cannot find the xml setup-files when I upload this same zip file to the temp dir of joomla, that is another thing.
Do I have to unzip this "joomdle-joomla-package.zip" for Joomla.first, and then put it in the temp dir, or in a new folder in the temp dir?
Regards
