Error - XML-RPC Error (404): Unknown error

Error - XML-RPC Error (404): Unknown error was created by D N
This has suddenly occurred - ONLY - when accessing the user page within Joomdle admin. Everything was working fine for weeks, system check is green all the way through.

Any ideas why this might happen?

At the moment, I have no evidence of functionality problems but as you can imagine I am concerned.

Was this screen working fine before?
If you close session, and go there again, does it show same error?

If the 2 above are true, maybe you added a new user with something strange in username?

Yes, both are indeed true.

Any ideas what kind of strangeness I should be looking for in the username?

I did find it.

Two users had spaces in their usernames during upload - which lead to "?" in their usernames. Correcting that made the error go away.

And just like that....it is back.

I have checked for similar usenrame issues and find none. The client is using email address as username and I do not see any other restricted characters or unusual output.

Any ideas?

That is weird. Was it working for a moment when you solved the issue with usernames?
If so, check latest added users, just to be sure.

It was - challenge is the site went live.

I checked the latest users and found a couple of challenges. I corrected them but I am still getting this behavior.

So I would like to really search the user table and see if I can find anything at all that could be problematic.

Any guidance....?

Hmmm - so obviously when we select Users from the Joomdle admin menue - it is querying the DB's user tables.

Is there an easy way to see when and where this error is hitting?

Maybe on a development enviroment where you log all database queries you could see it, but even then I am not sure.

So, no, no easy way to check :(
