virtuemart has updated to 2.0.21. This version has an update I need to use. I've spent a lot of time setting up this site, this feature is an afterthought, so the site is live... and I just need to make sure that joomdle 0.82 will still work if I upgrade virtuemart from 2.0.20 to 21.

no, really.. I still need to upgrade (or use the hack - depending on your answer), because the latest version of vrituemart fixes a problem with zero dollar items. On checkout even if your cart was totalled zero, you'd still have to enter your cc data... which is just ugly in many ways... and the newest version fixed it.

so before I hose a site I've spent 6 months putting together, after it goes live... I'd love to know if there's going to be any problem with Joodle if I upgrade from virtuemart .20, to virtuemart .21..

will I need to remake my token, and is joomdle still compatible? I'm thinking that with that one tiny little .0.01 change that it shouldn't be a total hose, lol. But I've had other plugins in other tools totally break things with one little change. my biggest fear is that I'll upgrade virtuemart to fix one tiny issue, and then joomdle won't be compatible, and then my house of cards will fall piece by piece, and I'll spend days on fixing it again, just to end up back where I started.

since the change is in a checkout function, and joomdle has to play a part in that, I just really want to make sure.

Yes you are correct, that at times simple changes to one extension can affect integration. VM upgrades are known for "breaking" things, so I understand your concern. VM 2 is much better however, as it uses a plugin system and as long as they didn't play with their API & plugins it should be OK.

That said, we have not upgrade to VM .21 yet and thus cannot give you a definitive answer. To my recollection, there as been no post saying that the VM upgrade has 'hurt' the Joomdle integration. In fact, I think your post is the first related to VM .21.

Also, I note you are running Joomdle .82. Once VM .21 gets into our testing path it will be with Joomdle .9 and above not .82.

Given all of the above, my recommendation is that in your test environment, you keep everything the same with the older VM and ensure it is working as expected. Then upgrade only your VM to .21 and test again. If you are comfortable with the results, then the same implementation can occur in your live environment.
