[Closed] Help with Displaying Product Details was created by Lisa
Hello -
While I know Moodle very well, I am basically a Joomla newbie. I have successfully installed Joomdle and have things working between Moodle and Joomla successfully.
My problem right now is getting Joomdle and VirtualMart2 working successfully. I have VM2 successfully installed and have I have the products/product categories displaying in my Joomla environment. However, when I click on "Product Details" or the link to the course, I get the 404 error below. I am obviously missing a step that is probably Joomla related. Am I supposed to create something in Joomla that will display the details of the course? I'm not seeing a buy me button or anything else related to the course, just this error below.

Do you have URL rewriting enabled ?
If yes, disable and clear cache else try to create a new category and test it again (the category could be any and not linked to moodle courses).

I did not have URL rewriting enabled. I did manage to get past this. However, what I did change was that I changed the moodle course category name to match then name of the shop category that I had those courses under. Was that correct?
I was hoping that I could break down my courses on the Moodle side into different categories, but it doesn't appear that this is possible in VM.

There are a couple of issues here, so best to manage one by one.
First forgetting the multiple categories, are you seeing your courses in the VM product listing / browse page? If not this is the place to start, as if this is not happening no point worrying about multiple categories.
Next, assuming your courses now show in VM and you just wish to have the course appear in multiple VM categories, then this is quite simple. Keep all the courses in the VM category you configured in Joomdle - this is mandatory. Edit the course in VM and select additional categories as you require. The course will now appear in those categories. Publish the VM category of your choice, unpublish the default VM category. Now you have the course appearing in multiple categories.

Thanks! I was able to see my courses in the VM product listing.
Your suggestions about the subcategories is exactly what I was looking for.
Regards!
