It seems that what I was trying to do isn't working. The goal here was to have a chat room open at all times like we had CometChat on our old site. But it seems chat history works strangely in Moodle. If you enter the room alone and type, it doesn't seem to be saving that so others can read it when they arrive (before they come into the room). Also, tho I'm not sure about this, it seems like if a few people are in the room and you aren't, that you can't read the chat transcript of a chat where you were not present, regardless of being enrolled in the class.
Do I have some settings wrong somewhere to be causing this problem? Or is this just the way Moodle chat rooms work?
