Issues Uninstalling Joomdle - Please help ASAP was created by Michelle
Hello,
I need to get rid of Joomla as soon as possible (per Bluehost's eminent upgrade which I can't do), so I am trying to remove Joomdle to preserve my Moodle install.
I tried to remove Joomdle from Moodle (deleting auth/joomdle folder and running Notifications), but my students weren't able to log in (using Moodle log in page) and when Forgot Password was clicked, this error message popped up:
Authentication plugin 'joomdle' not found.
I had to reinstall Joomdle just to get my site working again. What's going on? How can I get my Moodle site working without Joomdle/Joomla?
Versions:
Joomla!: 1.5.26
Moodle: 1.9.10
Joomdle: 0.52
Thank you so much for your help.
-Michelle
=======
UPDATE:
I've upgraded to Joomdle 0.9 for Joomla 1.5.x. I have been getting errors logging in as students:
"Section Error"
"Sorry, but you do not currently have permissions to do that (Change site configuration)"
Still not sure if safe to uninstall.

Hi.
If you need to remove Joomla/Joomdle, and keep Moodle, you should:
- Do as you did, and remove joomdle plugin from moodle
- Go to moodle database (or maybe you can do it in batch actions in moodle) and change auth method for all users to "email" (it is set to "joomdle" now)
Now, your users won't be able to log in, as their password was stored on Joomla. However, if the click on Forgot password, they should get the form to reset it.
Please try and let us know how it goes. You can do it with only a test user first, just to check eveything is as I think it should

Thank you, Antonio, for getting back to me so quickly!
So, I removed the Joomdle plugin from Moodle, ran the notifications, disabled Moodle Network Authentication, and when I went to the Moodle database, in mdl_config, 'auth' was already set to 'email'.
I couldn't log in with student and when I clicked Forgot Password and entered in my username, I got this error message:
Authentication plugin 'joomdle' not found.
Is it a different area in the Moodle database that needs to be changed?

It's the mdl_user table the one you need to modify.

That worked great!
I am still getting these errors, though, with a continue button sometimes:
Sorry, but you do not currently have permissions to do that (Change site configuration)
(^ after using a Forgot Password reset and after changing the password in Moodle as administrator)
Section Error!
(^ after changing the password in Moodle as administrator)
They seem to come and go. I have no idea what it means. Is there something that was done in Moodle when setting up Joomdle that limited password changes maybe?

No, I don't think so. Also, I don't know where the section errors may be coming from, sorry
