Logout Problem [closed] was created by Zy Danielson
I don't know if this is a Joomla, Moodle, or Joomdle problem, but thought I would post my issue here first. I am running Moodle inside of an iframe in Joomla. My Joomla login works fine and also logs me into my Moodle. The problem is that if I check the "Remember me" box when logging in, I can't logout again! When I click "Logout" in the dialog it says "waiting for celebnoli.com" in the bottom browser message area, then loads my Joomla site again with me still logged in! The only way out of this seems to be clearing all my browser cookies, which gets annoying after the first time.
Does anyone know where the problem may lie: Joomla? Moodle? Joomdle?

Sounds like a Joomdle problem we've had in the past. Can you tell us the joomla/moodle/joomdle versions you are using?

I have not been able to reproduce the problem in the same setup.
What are your values in joomdle config for redirect-less SSO and logout?
Are you running joomla and moodle on the same domain?

Took me a while to even find "redirect-less SSO" ... the value in Moodle is "No." Should it be yes?
And not sure what you mean by "and logout?"
Yes, Joomla and Moodle are on the same domain: celebnoli.com .
I'd be happy to set up a login for you, even with admin capability if you need it. But I don't think I would want to post that here on the public forum!
The Moodle link is called "Academy." You won't see the Academy link on the Joomla menu bar until you are logged in.

I was refering to Joomdle settings in Joomla, not in Moodle. Settings are:
Use redirectless SSO
Use redirectless logout
Also one question: the problem happens wen you log out from Joomla, Moodle or both? ie: in which platform do you click "Logout"?

Both of those Joomdle settings in Joomla are "No." Should they be "Yes?"
The problem happens when I logout from Joomla. It doesn't happen when I logout from Moodle.
Okay, I just turned both of those settings to "Yes" and the problem no longer exists. I am able to logout fine in Joomla.
However, this brings up another question I've wondered about. If I logout in Moodle then go back to a Joomla page, I'm still logged in. Is that normal? It makes things a little strange in my setup because I have the Menu Item in Joomla that opens the iframe where Moodle runs visible only to Registered Users. So you can't get into Moodle unless you are logged in. That's the way I want it. But then, if the user is in Moodle in the iframe and logs out there, they are still in Moodle as a guest (I suppose), which isn't something I wanted. But I guess it's okay because they do have a valid login or they couldn't have gotten there in the first place. I hope you understand what I'm saying.
I can live with this the way it is now. And the original Joomla logout problem seems to be resolved.
{ediit} I haven't tried this, but it seems like someone would be able to login to Joomla, go into Moodle, logout, and log into Moodle as a different user. Then they would be logged into both systems but as a different user? Will this cause any problems in either system?

Oh well, I guess it isn't fixed after all. Now when I login to Joomdle and go to Moodle, I am not logged in.
Please advise. Thanks.

It's not that they have to be set to yes, I just wanted to know how you had them so I can try to replicate your problem. In some situations, it ismore difficult to make the redirect-less options work.
> If I logout in Moodle then go back to a Joomla page, I'm still logged in. Is that normal?
No, that should not happen. You should be logged out too.
It seems tome that you have some problems in your setup, as you are experiencing different problems related to login/logout that no one else is reporting, and I cannot replicate.

Never did resolve this, but the site I was working on is being scrapped. I will be starting over with a new target audience for my Joomla/Moodle endeavors, so maybe this time I won't encounter the problem.
