Email function can't initiate

Hi everyone, basically when the user buys and registers a course and the confirmation email with the "welcome to ____ course" and the course url is supposed to be sent to the user, I am getting a can not initiate mail function error. Any ideas how on how to fix this issue? I saw in a previous post a solution for a configuration using Hikashop (which I attached an image of) but when I tried that fix it didn't work, we are using Virtuemart so I'm not sure if there's a difference in the code needed? Any answers much appreciated, Thanks!

That fix should work for VM too, assuming the problem is the same.

Are your other joomla emails working? What is your email config in joomla?
