XML-RPC in PHP Configuration not found #11
Hello. I'm having a similar issue. I did not install anything through ssh or the like, but I am using 1&1 on a shared hosting package. I have requested they enable XMLRPC, but have received numerous replies saying they cannot do that and I cannot install it. Is there a work around for this? Can Joomdle be used on a shared hosting package or does it need to be a dedicated server? Thank you in advance.

Viel Erfolg!

Since my exposure to the German language concluded in High School, I had to run that through Translate. Here are my results:
No, that's not at 1 & 1. You have to switch to a virtual server, I have at least done, and I have brought this thing to work. It is associated with some obstacles that I can not ad hoc in detail to trace, but in my experience, is here from the Admin side not the place where you should expect to substantial support, it seems more likely to be part of the marketing strategy that the Premium Support is also deprive Premium Member - and I say this explicitly value-free.
I Wish You Success!
Thank you so much for the reply. My experience with servers and PHP is quite limited, so please excuse the ignorance. How would this work through a virtual server? Does that basically give me full admin access, thus the ability to enable XMLRPC? Is this in violation of most shared hosting agreements? Do you have any suggestions for good guides (English, if possible) on how to set this up? Thank you.

On an virtual Server, you are able to log into ssh directly to your Server Configuration. This gives you the ability to activate the XML-RPC Extension of php 5.x. According to your Serversystem you have to install it with something like this: yum install php-xmlrpc (On Centos/Linux Server).
Serveradministration ist far away from "magical elite knowledge" but also not very close to "only press this pink button and everything works fine". You should take a few thoughts about this. In my experience the inet (Google, Forums like this and many others,...) can take you everywhere, maybe even to mars. But at the beginning of my site, i destroyed it more then three times, just because there was a small failure in the ssh Syntax.
Now iam running a Joomla Site with Single-Sign-On to a moodle and a MediaWiki Platform, with more than 500Students an 75 Teachers.
Viel Erfolg!
