Any hints for a digest redirect problem I'm having? was created by Lisa Norman
Me again -- sorry!
We're on Joomla 2.5.8, Joomdle 0.9, and Moodle 2.4.0
All moodle pages open in a wrapper, and we have the login re-direct working to log in through Joomla.
Remember - this is me, and I miss obvious things sometimes! I'm now down to ONE known problem on my site:
Users report that the "digest links are broken."
Looking at a digest, I see the following link: www.mysite.com/moodle/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=9717#p27750
When I click on that link in the digest -- logged in as a student -- I get taken back to the login page. I *did* verify that my student is enrolled in the class. I've logged in again, and still get taken back to the (now logout) login page of Joomla.
When I logged into the Moodle site directly using:
www.mysite.com/moodle/auth/joomdle/joomd...gin.php?login=moodle
(to verify that I was enrolled in the class) -- logging in as the admin, I was automatically redirected to:
www.mysite.com/moodle/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=9717
So...something is working.
The link looks right to me. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the wrapper? The auto-redirect? Phase of the moon? My being an idiot (most likely)?
We're loving the upgraded site and the students are hard at work. Lots of learning going on...especially on my part learning to juggle Moodle!

To know if this problem is related to the wrapper, you can try logging in as a student directly to moodle site (no wrapper), and checking those links there.

They work when I log in without the wrapper.
The regular moodle links work fine from inside the wrapper and the classroom is working fine. It is when a student tries to access those links via the digest that they don't work. They get redirected to login -- or logout.
Any hints?

To clarify -- they get redirected to login even if they are logged in. If they log in without the wrapper, they can access the links in the digest, except that we don't give the non-wrapper login out to our students, generally.
Is there a way to make this work?

Copy the links when in wrapper, and outside wrapper, to see if they are different.

Just to give you the "final" solution (until the students report more trouble) -- after I fixed the log-in redirect issue I had (they were getting a 404 error whenever they tried to log in from the digest), students report that they now get to the messages without any problems.
I'd posted those links at the beginning of the thread and there was a slight difference between in the wrapper and out of it...but it seems to be working fine now.
As usual, I'm confused, but as long as the students are happy, I'm happy.
Thanks again for your patience.
