I have not day a French installation however it should not matter which language you start with. That said, IMO, I would start with English first since Joomdle, joomla and moodle are all "built in English" ie tested with English language files first and tend to get more testing in English. But as you know, it is the same code and just different language files.

Tanks Chris,
May Be should I start with the R08 if I want to test many third parts.
I have read that third parts integration will be soon completed for the R09

A little more time is required for full R09. That is one of the drawbacks of adding more and more functionality
That said, I don't think there are too many issues with R09 - only a few reported bugs. We will not be doing any development on any version for the next month.

I think Jeremie has a misudnerstanding: R0.9 has full integration support.
What is still lacking some integrations is version for J3.0 (because some extensions are not yet 3.0 ready)
