Joomla URL seems to be misconfigured in Joomdle auth plugin was created by Sherdon Forbes
Hello I have installed Joomla 2.5.8, moodle 1.9.19 and joomdle R0.9.
I'm trying to link joomla and moodle but I am getting this error message in joomla after installing joomdle in both joomla and moodle: 'Joomla URL seems to be misconfigured in Joomdle auth plugin in Moodle'. I have followed the wiki link for resolution and I have discovered that in moodle the joomla version in joomdle only gives me the choice between joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.6. I was expecting to see joomla 2.5.8 as an option since this is the version of joomla that i have installed. How can I resolve this issue?

The J1.6 option is the same as the J2.5.x version.
Are you using a shared hosting environment or local test pc? Perhaps you have a different shared IP vs public IP address. Also, check your // and any re-directions in .httaccess

HI Chris, yes I am using a shared hosting environment I am not using a test pc. I have looked at the .httacess file and it seems to be OK. Is there anything else that I should look for?

Typically this means that moodle cannot find joomdle. Since you are on the same server, the points to look for are:
- the internal vs external IP address - you want to use the internal
- xmlrpc not installed and/or enabled
- the joomla url is not entered correctly
- the internal vs external IP address - you want to use the internal
- xmlrpc not installed and/or enabled
- the joomla url is not entered correctly

Hi, just in case this may help, I had the same problem and couldn't get this message to go away and I consulted our hosting company (we have a dedicated server). They disabled mod_security for the domain and everything fired up great.
In the help section for System Check one of the suggestions is : "Check any mod_security rules that may deny XMLRPC traffic" and this was the problem in our case.
Altering the language settings (as has been suggested in other forums on this subject) made no difference whatsoever. I am using Moodle 2.4.1+ and Joomla 3.0.3 and Joomdle 0.9.
Hope this helps.
