Hi,

Let me start by saying that I have very little coding experience and no experience in php. However, my problem is that no matter what I do I get a XML-RPC error (404) unknown error when I'm trying to click the users tab or trying to enable a course in virtuemart (the shop tab loads ok, and displays my moodle course).

I'm using Moodle 2.3.1, Joomla 2.5.1, Joomdle R09 and Virtuemart 2.0.18a. All health checks are green.

This seems to be a common error in the forum, one being that Moodle allows usernames which Joomdle will not allow. I have around 40 users on my Moodle site, but I can't seem to see a way on moodle to view usernames/change usernames/prevent it happening again.

My question is (before going in to looking for an illegal username, they trying to figure out how to prevent it from happening again) is this error likely to be caused by this or should I be looking somewhere else?

Thanks
Matt

Hi.

I am not sure if this is caused by a bad username, or by a different problem. As you have few users in Moodle, you can check their usernames in the database directly, to see if you see something strange.

Further to Antonio's note, if it was a username issue why would you get the error in virtuemart?

Also, I am not sure what your exact problem in virtuemart is. You say the tab shows OK and displays your course - so what is the problem in VM?

Thanks for the reply guys.

The problem with virtuemart is that when I try to enable it I get this error. I assumed it must have been querying the user data as it's the same error that I get when I try to view the users. However, if this is not the case then is there something that these tasks have in common that I should be looking at?

Problem is solved. I added all services to the Joomdle external service instead of just the ones found when searching for 'Joomdle' and it works. Not sure which one was the culprit but it was either one not named 'joomdle' or or missed a joomdle service when I originally added it.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, just another problem now. It's coming up with a list of users, but only displaying guest and admin. The strange thing about it is that it's showing that it's 1 of 4 pages (15/page). This would be about right as I have around 40 users but pages 2-4 are just blank.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Scrap that - I remembered overnight that I had edited the users.php file when I though it was a bad username causing the error. I reverted it to the original file and its working perfectly. Thanks again.
