website: http://www.colossians3:17project.org
Hi,
I've cleaned out my sites and I'm starting over. I'm going to list my steps if you don't mind telling me if I'm doing anything wrong?
1. I loaded Joomla 1.5 rocketlauncher, because it had a template I wanted, adn I didn't feel like constructing it myself.
2. I then migrated it to Joomla 2.5. AWESOME! NO problems. The template transplanted beautifully.
3. Loaded Community Builder and Kunena, but not sure if I should start messing with configuring yet.
Now here's the fun part:
Everytime I've loaded Moodle as a subdirectory, I get nothing but trouble (1.9). I want to load the latest version, but don't know how yet. Still reading about it, as I am still new at working in the back end.
1. Since I'm trying to install the newest version, can I install Moodle as a site, separate from the Joomla, and if I do, will Joomdle be able to merge the two? (I'm also hoping it will make things a little easier to configure, too)
2. My site is: www.colossians3-17project.org Is it possible to merge or link Moodle course introductions or the login module to the individual modules on the Joomla page?
In other words, The modules are addressing different topics, with subtopic links within each module. I want to be able to link the course intros and the sub topic/headings within the modules, leading to the Moodle site.
Yes, I'm still climbing that learning curve, but my husband's impressed at my determination to learn!
Thanks

I didn't know that you could migrate the rockettheme from 1.5 to 2.5. You may find that some things will not work as expected as migration of templates is not really supported by the migration routines.1. I loaded Joomla 1.5 rocketlauncher, because it had a template I wanted, adn I didn't feel like constructing it myself.

Personally, if you are starting a new site, I would also start a new / fresh install of J2.5 rather than a migration from 1.5 as you will have a lot of old stuff there which you will need to clean up at some point. What I usually do, is install the rocketlauncher or similar from other template provider in a test server that I can use for reference.
3. Loaded Community Builder and Kunena, but not sure if I should start messing with configuring yet.
You can do this anytime as there is not much of an impact on a basic installation of Joomdle.
If you wish to use the latest version and this a new install. I would not bother installing Moodle 1.9 as you have to migrate it at some point causing more confusion and work. Again, if you wish to have a Moodl 1.9 for reference place it on a test server. Now here's the fun part:

Moodle can be installed on any sub-directory of Joomla (or even on a different domain). Personally I store in a subdirectory eg. wwww.mydomain.com/courses or similar.

No and this will make it hard and double your work. As about since this is new, install the latest. Less work

Yes. But this may not be your best approach. Joomdle provides various views to present and link to the Moodle courses. I would suggest you have a look through the Joomdle demo and various configuration options in the wiki to see what is possible.
