Why Is This So Slow???

Can someone tell me why Joomla is so slow????
My site is located at: www.tesol-gli.org
I have 2.5 loaded, along with Joomdle for Moodle 9 integration, and I'm using a 1.5 template (Terrabane).

I modify, delete and/or rename pages and it takes forever for it complete. I've loaded Kunena forum. Other than that, I haven't even begun to add content or any other extensions to personalize the page. No, it's not the host as far as I can tell, because the other sites seem to be working just fine.

Is anyone else experiencing this, and if this is the case, then I might not be able to use this, especially since this is an e-learning site, requiring alot of content.

So far we have not had any general feedback about performance. How does your site respond when you disable the Joomdle pluins in Joomla? Also, you may find a performance / capability issue using a J1.5 template in J2.5

I think you may be right about the 1.5 template, which makes me sad, because I like it so much. I'll see if I can find it in 2.5.
In the meantime, I'm still receiving the https joomla - moodle/moodle-joomla messages, and it says that moodle isn't responding, so that must have something to do with it too, maybe?

Question: Do I even need the Joomdle plugins? How else would I connect moodle to Joomla? Newbie, here.

It may or may not be related. We cannot tell based on the information you have provided. The easiest way to determine is to try with a different template as see if you get the same response. Of course you should still visit the Joomdle system health check to ensure you have all green check marks. If you dont have, then resolve those first as without all green ticks you will not be able to connect.

As for the plugins. Depends on what you are trying to do and which plugin you are referring to. You can assume those plugins uploaded with Joomdle are required to give you features such as single sign on. Clearly you will not need to enable a plugin for,say hikashop, if you do not use that extension.
